How to Make a Website: Step-by-Step Guide

I know, I know ... creating a website can be confusing.

Ten years ago, when I created my first website, I knew nothing about the development of the website or web. I am looking for a guide and "how" Google is looking for a guide, but they all needed technical skills and I thought they were extremely difficult to follow.

Since then I have created and managed more than 30 different websites and on the way, I have learned a lot of web.

What I can say is that websites can be extremely easy to create and no coding skills are required (eg HTML or CSS). In fact, the whole process can be somewhat automated. So if you are 20 or 80 years old, it doesn't really matter - you can still create a site.

Here is my own website, which I have created in less than 30 minutes using a free tool called WordPress. You can also do this by following the direct steps below.

Yes, you can create a free website on platforms like Wix.com or Canva.com, but they are not completely free. Here's why:

You won't get your own domain name: You will be stuck with a sub-domain. For example, instead of having your own domain it will probably look like bats.com. It will look like Mayubites.Ox.com, which usually does not seem polished and professional.

Restricted Themes, Layout and Ad-on: Your website can look simple and appealing. If you want additional themes or plugins to customize your site you need to pay and it may be expensive.

You have no control over your website: Since your site is hosted on another platform, you are not really the owner of it. If the moderators of the platform decide that your site does not fit their principles (which is more frequent than what you think), they can delete your site without warning. All your hard work may be extinct within a few seconds.

You can't fully cash your website: If you plan to make money or sell items through your own website, a free platform will seriously limit your options.

What would it cost to start a self-hosted website in your own domain?

You do not need a domain name, which priced at about 10- $ 15 a year and web hosting (a service that connects your website to the Internet), which starts about 3-month (less than film tickets).

More precisely, I have used several hosting companies in the past such as Namachap, Gaddi and others.

However I was not fully satisfied with them. Their customer support was not particularly professional and it often takes a long time to contact someone. Sometimes my site will be offline for a few hours without any professional assistance.
